Housed in a
modern-style building with a 30-metre-high central glass dome and a tall
waterfall, is the centrepiece of the new 15,000 m2 Estepona’s “Central Park”.
The orchidarium
is the biggest in Europe and accordingly, has more than 4,000 different
species. Is the home of vegetable specimens from all five continents,
coexisting within the same space. Divided
into two areas of 1000 m2 separated by a bamboo forest, you can find beside
others the flower “Ylan Ylan” (Cananga odarata) , a very famous flower among
high-end perfumers, like Chanel or Dior.
But there is not only flowers and
plants, also you will find some small tenants who will help to control unwanted
pests and insects. The Phelsuma Klemmerii is a daytime Madagascar gecko that
loves bamboo forests. Its only 10 cm length but looks very nice with his bright
colors skin.
Next time you
visit Estepona you cannot miss this place to enjoy with your family. A mixture
of colours, fragrance and sensations that will surprise you.
